First notable snow in Boulder in Fall 2013 occurred October 4. The kids were thrilled to get outside and make snow angels!
It was perfect snow for a snowball fight too.
And a snowman!
A week later in mid October, Boulder canyon opened enabling a route to Estes Park. Wanting to support the damaged businesses and enjoy a family weekend in the mountains, we made an overnight trip.
We took a mellow family hike down the road from the Fern trailhead. The kids loved going at their own pace and exploring the rocks.
Great pals!
Sometimes with a little competitive spirit! No surprise there!
We stopped in a gorgeous meadow for some quick family picks.
And it was back on the trail again!
The leaves along the road made for great fun.
The next day Treyden’s kindergarten friend Sawyer came up with his parents to do another hike from Cub Lake.
The mission was to hear elk bugling. We experienced that and much more! Treyden and Sawyer made themselves in to Elk!
We were lucky enough to see a moose family!
A great trip with some new friends!
Doug had the excellent idea of glowing stick people for Halloween. Here are the kids decked out in their costumes.

Treyden’s Fall Soccer Season
It as great fun to watch Treyden and his team mates start to understand the game of soccer during the fall 2013 season.
Treyden definitely started to enjoy the experience of scoring goals! He was always looking for a way to get the ball and head to goal.
The end of the game “tunnel time” was still a big hit for all of the players.
