To celebrate Julie’s birthday in late June a bunch of us went camping in Happy Jack near Laramie, Wyoming. Doug scored us a great camp sight within riding distance of Happy Jack single track, with plenty of space for Treyden to ride his bike and the dogs to roam.
Bill brought his Guitar which was a big hit with Treyden and made for lots of fun around the camp fire late in to the night.
Carleigh was very intrigued with the washers game.
And she enjoyed walking around in the woods, sometimes a little too much!
Treyden got his first taste of roasted marshamallows and was hooked!
Another great camping trip with great friends.
For July 4th weekend, friends let us borrow their house in Fraser Colorado. On one of the days we piled the kiddos in to the Chariots and rode in to Winter Park. Treyden and Carleigh napped on the way in. We love how Treyden had put his arm around his sister before falling asleep.
There was a bike park in town where Treyden and Noah rode their bikes. Here’s Treyden on Noah’s bike.
In the park, there was an artificial rock wall, made for climbing.
Turns out, there was a challenge for everyone!
Next we rode to the Winter Park ski resort to explore, including riding the chair lift from the parking lot.
A great trip with lots of good family fun and some mountain biking! We even had the chance to do a fun night ride in Idlewild, accessed from the house.
Treyden has always had an affinity for the vacuum, but now he is getting big enough to use the vacuum all by himself with some success!
Carleigh loved hauling her bottle of formula or milk around the house while keeping up with everything else.
In late July we traveled to Crested Butte for a weekend and found another climbing wall!
Dad had fun with different modes on his phone camera.
And another nap in the chariot as we cruised around town.
We went on several hikes. This one was up the Gothic valley.
Treyden did a good job of hiking on his own 2 feet!
Gorgeous waterfalls and wild flowers!
And a sunset hike really close to our condo on the ski mountain.
The next day we went on another hike that included a major river crossing and numerous gorgeous waterfalls.
Later in August, Pops and Sheryl offered to watch the kids for a day while Doug and I mountain biked Curt Gowdy State Park near Laramie with Julie and her boyfriend Bill.
We had an absolute blast riding the great trails and playing in the “bike playground”.
We even had a relaxing round of beers on the tailgate and dinner before heading back to Fort Collins and our happy kiddos.
Carleigh, like Treyden, seems to love limes… at least she keeps coming back for more!
Doug decided his hair was getting a bit out of control…
So he gave the electric razor to Treyden to solve the problem.
You’ll have to wait for the next post to see the result!
Carleigh is more than ready to be able to do stuff and help out around the house and yard.
